How to Increase Your Cat's Health

Cat's toxic loads are higher than humans. Take care of your cat by keeping them away from toxins as much as you can. There is an estimated 10 Million tons of waste from cats and dogs annually. Bagged waste will not pollute the land fills as much as unbagged. By making their toys without toxins, naturally getting rid of fleas and some other tips we can make them eco-friendly.

1. Make their toys.

Be careful with pet toys, alot are made with lead and cadmium which is harmful to animals who chew on their toys. Use organic cotton or wool material. By taking a old pair of jeans or something durable that will hold up to their teeth and sewing it up with cotton stuffing inside will be a natural toy. Or you can take socks and stuff the sock and make designs on the outside, tie the top into a knot. Sprinkle catnip on their scratching post.

2. Feed organic food.

Besides all the pet food scares, be careful of cat food mixed with hormones, antibiotics, and synthetic fertilizers. Buy USDA pet nosh which meet the standards as certified organic human food. Cats process raw food better than cooked food. By feeding them healthy foods it keeps their tolerance up against worms.

3. Properly pitch poop.

There are special enzymes you can mix with the poop to convert into a safe fertilizer. Biodegradable bags made from cornstarch plastic or liners prevent the bag from breaking down too fast at a landfill. Or for the pooper spot line it with chemical-free, wheat based Swheat scoop litter. To avoid odors dust with baking soda.

4. Keep from fleas.

The flea collars are worse than the bugs they try to keep away.
The collars on the market contain unsafe chemicals not good for children, people who sleep with their cats, kiss, rub and more.

Sprinkle brewers yeast, garlic, and flaxseed into your cat's food. Fleas don't like lavender, mint, rosemary, and cedar. You can tie a bandana with these herbs around their neck, or rub the dry herbs into their coats. If you do have fleas in your carpet sprinkle with boric acid salts.
This will definitely make your cat eco-friendly.
