You can save money, gas and time by limiting your dog's trips to the groomer, or save water and money while limiting your impact on the environment by extending the time between at-home baths and using fewer bottles of store-bought shampoos.
Things You'll Need
* Cornmeal (fine ground is best)
* Dog brush
1. Perform a skin test to ensure that your dog will not have a negative reaction to the cornmeal. This is unlikely, but it's always best to try any new product on a small area of skin first.
2. Sprinkle the fine ground cornmeal onto your dog's coat.
3. Massage the fine ground cornmeal through your dog's hair all the way down to his or her skin.
4. Leave the cornmeal as is for a few minutes to allow it to absorb odor and excess oils.
5. Brush your dog thoroughly to remove the cornmeal, dirt and hair.
Tips & Warnings
- Be careful to avoid the eyes, nose and ears, as well as other sensitive areas.
- Although cornmeal is not typically an irritant, it's always best to test new products on a small patch of skin to make sure your dog will not have a negative reaction. -Mavyn
